And this station would be big enough to provide transport for everything they'd take, or everyone they'd bring? No. Far too small. Were they planning on building something bigger? Or just leave behind the people they didn't like?
Right, yes, that thing. [Which implied they'd been organized enough to respond after a crisis, but before everything went down in flames. In his experience it usually didn't go that well, so good for them!
Apart from the stuff that followed, obviously.] So, a prototype transport headed to Delta Optima. Understandable. The whole killing them thing, though. That's a little odd. Especially given that the station's more in the business of resurrecting people these days. [If the human-looking thing with the wings was to be believed.] Could the station always do that? Why hasn't it brought its crew back? Didn't care for them?
[Oh come on, he hadn't even been really rambling incoherently this time! Even Sergeant Scur would've been able to follow that one! Oh well. Just like with Scur, speak slowly, enunciate carefully.]
Was the station supposed to fix dead people but couldn't, or did it learn to fix dead people later?
Oh, so close to a proper answer. What a tease. [He paces, thinking.]
So. Prototype interstellar drive and all that. But this thing's reaching its stringy little arms across dimensions to snatch people up and drag them here. No relay on the other end, no sign it's gonna happen at all until you're just suddenly here and stuck.
[He paces faster, gesticulating more as he talks.] And that dimensional stuff! Grineer can travel through the Void, we've got another dimension to poke at, but it's not like this. Can't mine it, can't live in it, you just sneak through it and try not to get split open. There's no other Earth waiting there, no hordes of more humans scuttling about. If there were, we'd find them! We'd be mining their planets, building colonies. Always need more, and we haven't run out of anything in our system, even. This thing can reach to better Earths and they never thought to just send their little military teams through to take what they needed? No.
[No, this is more mysterious chicanery going on.
He finally turns his attention back to Cirsta.]
So! How's the drive supposed to work? Did something about it change since its crew used it? And could it always just... pick up things, people, transport people to it?

So, was the station always able to learn new functions? Did it learn to learn too? Or--or! Is something that isn't the station fixing up the dead?
